Ok, so my hen (pullet?) is about 4 months old now. We had a scare this week if anyone would like to see our topic in emergencies. We were told she was a Rhode Island Red by the Agway who gave her to us, but then someone else mentioned she may be an ISA Brown. Can someone finally let me know? Here are pictures from today...she's not very cooperative so if you need more let me know lol. Thanks! Saranna
You came to the right place to start with chickens! I'm not as good with breeds of chicken as the others but she is pretty!
Sorry I'm not an expert with either of those breeds but she is a pretty girl and this will help bump your post
looks like a Rhode Island Red hen does the tail have black in it at the ends? when the comb turns red she will start laying
She's a red. An isa or other sex-link get lighter in color toward the tail, reds stay the body color or get darker/black.
In these pics she looks like my hatchery RIRs, that picture you have on your intro page when she was younger and had a lighter face didn't. Perhaps it was just that the coloring was off on that picture.
