New to chickens

Hello, everyone. I am an aspiring farmer. I have never owned my own chickens because zoning laws won't allow that. But I want to learn all I can so that when I finally get my own farm I have plenty of knowledge to get started. I want to have Silkies because I heard they are great for first time chicken owners.

when my friend had a white silkie, people often asked her what kind of dog it was. With the big crest and beard you couldn't even see her beak. That might be something that plays in your favor.
