New to chicks - peeping like crazy

We got 6 chicks a few days ago and originally had them on newspaper with paper towel over it - they were quiet and happy. Yesterday introduce pine chips and they haven’t stopped peeping - except at night thankfully!!! They were eating them at first but have seemed to go back to their crumble. I heard they peep when uncomfortable - should I change it back??

I would give them more time to adjust to it. Chickens are sensitive little sissies when it comes to change. Lol.
Just make sure they keep eating, drinking, and have good temp.

I would. But I have no experience with this peeping. I always had mothers who look after their chicks.
Maybe they peep because they have a kind of abdominal pain?

A few of my chicks with their mother are always peeping,although they eat and drink normally.

Temperature always used to make mine peep a little more if it was too cold, how old are they and what is the temperature in the location they are in?

I agree with @sloanbychoice give them time. If they are scratching they are just exploring it. Mine peep like crazy with theirs at time. They scratch their food out of the feeder then scratch around peeping to find it in the wood chips...

Also breed makes a difference, my Marans are especially loud baby chicks...
