Good morning! I have 10 total ducks. My 4 oldest are 2 Rouen and 2 Pekins. They are 20 weeks. Yesterday we found our first egg. It was small. When they start laying, are they smaller at first or should I assume this is from our Rouens? The egg today was the same size. (Picture of yesterdays egg by the quarter and todays in my hand)

When they first start laying their eggs are usually smaller and grow in size as the system gets all the kinks worked out.
Congrats on the eggs. are you going to eat them? they are yummy and make awesome baked goods.

Yes Ma'am! My 4 year old asked for a fried egg yesterday, so she got that one! I told the husband I would save this one for him! We are big egg eaters! It's amazing how exciting finding the eggs are!

Yes and no...Pullet eggs are small though with a yolk. Fairy or fart eggs can happen anytime. Your correct. My mistake in my reply..Although Normal...:frow

Ok, yea, this definitely had a yolk! It was comparable in size to my store bought large chicken egg. Just a bit more narrow.
