Hello from Iowa. I grew up around chickens and guineas but just recently rescued 11 chickens. The previous owners had them in a tiny crate with insufficient light, food and water. Needless to say, these chickens are in need of some tlc. I have 2 Araucana hens, 4 Road Island Red hens, 4 Plymouth Rock hens and one Plymouth Rock rooster. They're molting due to these poor conditions. They have a new house now, enough water and light/fresh air and also feather fixer feed. I'm also giving them tuna and table scraps to help them. Any other suggestions?

Welcome![IMG] I'm glad you joined our community.

Good job rescuing those hens! They should be laying you some beautiful eggs soon, with such excellent care![IMG] X2 on Kelsie2290's advice to get game bird feed. I use game bird feed for some of my birds, and I think that it helps with feather growth.

I'm sure they love the tuna but, a low sodium version would be best. Probably less expensive to just get them a higher protein quality feed.
