New to Guinea fowl

We recently got guinea hens and they have been able to free range all day. Instead of venturing out and searching for bugs they like to sit on the back porch and in my flower pots! Is this normal and any suggestions to encourage them to venture out more?

They like to hang out, I keep mine in and let them out every couple days, try making them roost in the trees. They might adventure more
