    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes, I helped at my family's farm as a child. I was gifted my 2 chicks on May 17th 2019 as a surprise birthday present.

    (2) How many chickens do you have right now? 2 chicks.

    (3) What breeds do you have? I believe they are road-island reds.

    (4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Food sustainability, bug management and honestly they are cute to sit and watch and i love petting them.

    (5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, building things, self sustainability and more.

    (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have a Husky. She was born christmas eve to christmas day in 2009. I have had her since she was a puppy. She loves all animals and small things. She mother hens the chicks :D Occupation- none. Trying to start up a small farm/homestead with the goal of being able to feed my household comfortably without having a large grocery bill or atleast break even on what i put into it to what i get out of it.

    (7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D Googled pullets for sale near me, first site that came up. I have known about it for years as it was mentioned in several beginner farmer tips and tricks guides i have read. I finally joined as I now have 2 chicks and barely a clue about what i'm doing aswell as to be able to plan on expanding my flock.
