New to Site

I everyone! Just joined the site to get some questions answered. Thanks in advance for your help. I have a free range chicken that lays eggs. In the past, we could not find the eggs until she went into brooding and then found the bunch. She is laying eggs again! Do I take the egg and leave the empty nest or do I replace the egg with a fake one. Don't want her to brood again. Thanks

She is very friendly with us. Comes close for feeding. Do I remove the egg and leave nest emply?

Chickens thrive in a flock. I would highly recommend getting your lone gal at least 2 friends! Good luck!!!!

If you don't want her to go into broody mode, remove the egg(s) daily. And no fake eggs. She knows where the nest is. She will return again & again like clockwork.

If you don’t want her to go broody take the egg(s). Chickens will not be happy or feel secure without companions. Try to find her at least 2 other chickens to live with.
