We were given six baby chicks and told they were Barred Rock. So I googled Barred Rock chicks and they did not look anything alike. Our little chicks were a pale yellow so I thought they might be Leghorns... I'm not sure how old they are but I'm guessing they were about 8-10 weeks old when we got them and we've had them for 8 weeks, so I think they are about 16-18 weeks old. I gave 2 to my sister so now we have 4 white chickens with red combs... i suspect they are all males, though.

Those are Cornish Cross, an industrial meat bird. I'd guess slow grow strain based on the fact that they're still alive. Both are cockerels. It's rare for these to live more than a few years in the best case, and most will die from organ failure or cease walking prior to that. The best thing to do for these would be to butcher them or find someone who will.

I'd find some white pullets about the same size "White Rocks or something" and switch em out one night.
