New to the forum from Michigan

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum. I live in southern Michigan. I'm fairly new to chickens. I got my first three chicks a year and half ago and then added three new year old chickens to the flock early this summer.. When there's coverage, my girls free range but have to be kept in for the winter months...too many predators. I've read as much as I can on chickens but I know that everyone has their own way on doing things too. I've been coming up with some questions and I'm glad to have a place to get input.

Thank you. I only had the reds last winter but they did quite well during the winter except for the fact that two of them decided to molt when it was in the teens outside. I was forced to put a heat lamp in for a few weeks. We all got through it fine though
