Good morning! I am very new to chicken raising. We moved into a new home about four months ago and there was a dilapidated chicken coop in the backyard. My six-year-old son was very excited at the prospect of having chickens and decided he wanted a white one and was going to name it fluffy Williams for whatever weird reason. As we were moving our belongings into the house, up wandered a white rooster!! I was truly amazed and believe God sent him as a sign of good to come here in our new home[IMG] ever since that day we had become rooster parents- The chicken coop is still dilapidated as were working on the inside of a 1927 house but are hoping to get a few hens come spring to keep fluffy entertained! Thank you to everyone who has put their pointers and tips - so far it is been a big help!

I hope you enjoy BYC. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends [IMG]
