new member here... have lurked for a while
ran across a few post I thought "I may be able to help them"
and also found out "I dont know everything"

here is a good one for you... I have 50 quail eggs in my incubator and just now figured out my "male"
was actually just a female with cool markings as a youngster and they faded away to normal colors as she grew up

went with quail because they are silent and give me lots and lots of tiny eggs
but would really like to have some barred rocks running free around my backyard

Is it possible then that one you thought was a female is a male? Just hoping that the eggs would hatch for you. Believe me we all have stories to tell that weren't funny at the time they happened. You'll laugh about it someday

unfortunately no... for some reason I put all my faith in this one being male lol... even better I would swear I heard him call the first day
she must have been really confused

this weekend I plan on getting some males. close enough to breeding season now the difference should be obvious lol
