New to the website

Hi everyone!!

I have been using google to find out about raising my own hens. Then I came across this well informed website. So much to go through, I'm sure everything is covered!

I am from Arizona mother of a five year old and happily married. We are looking to add a few hens to our home.

Where would a newbie start when wanting to raise hens from hatching and produce eggs for themselves.

I hope to become a regular here.

Welcome from San Diego

If you want to hatch eggs you need an incubator. There are great pages here about how to make your own or you can buy one. I made one using the pages here. I haven't put together my own page yet, planning to.

Your 5 year old will love the experience. And so will you. I'm expecting to hatch my first ones tomorrow or Friday, if everything went OK.
