I just got into the 'backyard chicken' game, but with quail instead. This community has helped me a lot already, and I'm looking forward to learning more and sharing that with others.

I started out with a breeding flock of coturnix that were getting close to a year old. They came pretty well trained and tame. (One of them is actually quite the suck up). And i just got some chicks that are getting close to a week old now. All doing very well.

Im going to be putting together a nice stacked pen for them in our mudroom. (Its like a small barn connecting the house to the garage) and also put together a nice outdoor enclosure for them for some nice summer grazing.

Im sure ill have some questions on that as well as these chicks as they grow and molt.

Cheers and thanks for all the help youve all already provided me.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and pointing me in the right direction.

Ill be sure to start updating when i get things settled in a bit more. Currently all the birds are being housed in my house, in the spare room of the basement. I live in southern ontario (kingston/ottawa region) so its still a bit chilly outside to move them all out anyways. Want to let them easy into their first winter out there after a nice healthy summer. Get them bulked up and feathered for it. Haha
