All summer we have been working on this pen. I am so glad we are finished with the digging/building. We dug all around the pen and laid out chain link fence to keep anything from digging its way in. We are just waiting on the grass to grow and we are going to put in the rest of the stumps, ornamental grasses, and logs. We are also looking for another tree that has a hole in it for another nesting area in the pond. Here are some pics of how it is looking now.

Very, very nice! I bet you cant wait to fill it with birds! Whats on the sides, chicken wire? If so, you might want to at least put a sight barrier up...something could tear through the chicken wire.

Thanks. Well I already have the birds to fill it! I am sure they can't wait to get in there they have been in their temp pen for almost year. I have 2 pr ring teal, a pair each of split to white, reg and white mandies, chileo widgeon, then a trio of each of woodies and northern pintails and 4 Ruddy shellduck hens who need a man. It is PVC coated chicken wire it is really strong I use it on all of my pens and haven't had anything get through it. Heck I have had a few raccoon pull several quail out through it and not phase the wire.

I got them moved in today. I am so excited they seem muck happier in the bigger enclosure. We still need to plant the grasses and get a few more stumps/logs in.

That is awesome! The birds already found the pond and it looks like they are enjoying it! I wish I had that in my backyard..
