Hello, I recently acquired an eight week old Barred Rock Hen as an anxiety companion. She's now ten weeks old and is, frankly, the love of my life. I'm new to chicken life, but have been combing backyardchickens forums for about five weeks now. I'm happy to jump into the community!

Out to pasture
I think you would enjoy checking out "people with house chickens," thread. Chickens can make great house pets. My friend has kept them this way for over 25 years, - different breeds but mainly bantams.
