We have a small 7acre farm in the NY Heldeberg mountains. Adding chickens this year. Ordered a variety - Cornish X, Barred Rock, Buff Orpington, Speckled Sussex, Partridge Cochin, and a few BBR phoenix, and White Silkie Bantams (for our little one).
Coop is 5x8x6 and they will have over an acre fenced run in between our garden and electrified horse fencing. There's water and power too. We are hoping this will offer more protection from predators.
Our little one has a severe corn allergy and we would love some feed recommendations that are corn free :) And anything else you'd like to share. Thanks for having us!!!

Welcome to Backyard chickens. I don't mean to pry - did you know Cornish x are meat birds? They grow extremely fast and are ready to process for the table I believe at 8-10 weeks of age.
