Hey everyone!
Have been losing my fair share of my small flock to the Hawks. Anyone know of cheap source for netting?

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

I have had great luck with this stuff....http://www.amazon.com/Best-Choice-P...+netting&pebp=1422896319729&peasin=B001W2AG2M

This netting lasted for years and no hawks even dared come through it! I used several rolls and set it up like circus tent style inside.

BUT....I had a terrible time keeping the wild birds out of this mesh. Wild birds spread a lot of disease. So you might look into 3/4 inch or smaller.

You can also ask this question in our predators and pest section for the forums for more help...https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/13/predators-and-pests

Good luck and I hope you can solve your hawk problem soon!!

Thanks for the welcome and the info... I think I should be in pretty good shape now tho, had chicken feed wings for super bowl!
LOL come on yall you know I'm kidding right??? Illegeal to kill hawks where I live. I got may fence up around the run so netting in time for the spring should be cake.
Thanks again.

We're glad to have you.

I'm sorry about your hawk troubles! I've been very fortunate that I haven't lost any birds to predators. But, I only have a small flock and they live in a covered run, so they may be safer than usual. Good luck with your flock!
