I have always wanted to have a few hens in the backyard. My husband (at long last!) agreed, if the town's zoning allowed for it. Today I called and four hens are ok! So now I'm beginning my research, looking at coop designs (limited carpentry skills over here) and breeds. I am hankering for Rhode Island Reds, the kind of chickens we had when I was a little girl. I know I will have a million questions and I'm glad to have found you folks.
