    Good morning!!

I spend a lot of time looking for help on this forum, so I have decided to join!

I am English, live in Brittany (married to a Breton) and have been keeping chickens for about a year now.

It started just to have the eggs............ and now I am chicken mad!!

I have Orpingtons, a poule de Marans, some small hens of no defined race, a couple of laying hens.... and I was recently given two Silky hens for my birthday and have just bought a Silky cock and another hen.

The Silkies live in my garden and the others are in a field next to our house.

So that's me.... and now I must post my very first question!!

    Kenavo (Breton for goodbye!!)

Hi Tilly and welcome to BYC - great that you have joined us. Having a field next-door sounds like a perfect breeding ground for chicken maths. I'd be in a whole heap of problems if I had the same [IMG]

Please make yourself at home here with us.

    Best wishes

    Thank you!!!!!

Yes, it is fantastic having a field next to the house as there's lots of room for more and more and more and more chicks!! At the moment, I have four little hens who now each have between 6 and 10 eggs in their nest. Also my silky hens have laid and I am hoping they are going to start sitting on the eggs soon.

My husband is starting to get desperate as he thinks he might be squeezed out of the house by all the hens!!!! [IMG]
