hi all. my wife, 2 girls and my self are new to the chicken world. i have been buying farm fresh eggs from friends for years, we decided to get our own flock. we have a friend that took 20 eggs to the incub. for us. i started on the coop for the chicks. next on the list is the full size coop out back. my yard backs up to state land, full of wild animals. i have seen fox, coyote, and a bunch of coons, so we are planning on a full enclosure for our new birds. i'm sure ill find this forum very useful.

Hello and welcome to BYC

I hear hardware cloth is great for keeping the more persistent predators at bay. Enjoy your chicken adventure!

Hardware cloth is always a good thing to use on your coop to deter predators. You can find lots of info on that kind of thing here at BYC!
