Hello everyone! My husband and I are living in north Alabama and so happy to have found BackyardChickens! We have a small 2 acre mini farm and are looking into raising emu's. <3 Our son is grown so we are empty nesters except for 4 happy grandpups!

Welcome to BYC. You can find emu threads on BYC. A few years ago they were all the rage, and a lot of chicken people were raising them too. I do know they need lots of room to run, preferably not many trees because they do tend to run smack into them and get harmed. They need fencing to keep them where you want them. Also they like to venture out in streams and ponds.

Just put "emu threads," in the search box and they will pop up. They can tell you a lot more than I ever could. Welcome to BYC.
