Hi all! I've searched this site a lot for info, but am just now getting around to joining. Looking forward to meeting some of you and hope to find other chicken lovers nearby. We currently have a small flock of 7 hens that are about 15 weeks old. Still waiting on our first eggs!

Hi and [IMG] Glad you joined us! You are sure to find a whole bunch of chicken lovers on here! (Like me! [IMG])
What breeds are your chickens? Chickens usually start laying at around 6 months, sooner with Leghorn's.
Have a great time on here! [IMG]

We currently have 2 barred rock, 2 Americaunas, a barnvelder, a buff Orpington and a lavender Orpington. A bit of variety lol the Barred Rocks are just now starting to get their red combs, so I'm hoping we get our first egg before winter hits and we have to wait to see some real action until Spring.

It would be great if they started laying in time for holiday baking. [IMG]
