    ahasbeen New Egg

    Apr 24, 2011
Howdy-doody y'all. The wife and I go thru a minimun of a dozen eggs a week and with prices the way they are, we decided to try our hand with byc's. We're both retired , for a gazillion years, and want to give chickens a try. Bought a set of plans for a coop, but last night found one that makes more sense-Rancho Chickacabra. Being a DIY type, I'm sure I'll have some questions . In fact, only last week did I find out a hen don't need a rooster to lay an egg ! That ought to tell you how much I know about chickens. Time for me to go to roost......... Regards, ahasbeen

I thought you needed a rooster to get egg when I first got my chickens too. [IMG] You will get all the chicken info you will need (and then some) on BYC.

Hello neighbor! There is a FL thread you should check in on, and a "Space Coast Chicks" thread too!
Hopefully you'll get as much joy out of your new hobby as I have!
