Hello everyone,
A brand new poultry person here.
My husband and I got our first five ducklings at the Canby Poultry Swap a few weeks ago (two Khaki Campbells, a Pekin mutt, and two who appear to be a Runner/Saxony cross). I was a little shocked a the mess they could make, but all the babies are doing beautifully.... actually they're hardly babies anymore, they now have full run of our backyard and are happy as clams.
We do have an extra drake, so if anyone has a young hen or two from a breed that's a good layer, I'd be interested in buying or swapping. Sexed ducklings would work, too.
I shudder at the thought of going through the duckling mess again, but it would be worth it to have a balanced flock.
