  1. Hey all...Okay, it's day 21 for my chicks...No movement yet, but I've read enough to know that this does take time...I'm excited, and nervous..I have a Silkie Roo mated with Comets, no idea what to expect with how the chicks will look..haha..I am worried about one thing, I placed an egg in the incubator that was very small, but to my surprise it was still going strong right up until lock down. I was wondering will this chick survive or even pip. Bit worried, the little thing came this far without giving up. Did anyone else have an experience with a very small egg..Thanks for any help in advance..Di

Some chicks don't hatch till as late as day 23 or 24, so no worries. :)
Have any of the eggs pipped yet?

    Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Yes they can take their time to hatch! When you set them did you count the day you put them in the incubator as day 1 or after a full day of incubation?
I've had smaller eggs hatch just fine, with the egg being smaller the chick has been smaller but they have got on just fine.

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow

    Well [IMG] and [IMG]
@Dianemargaret it seems like you got very good answers already, so I will be left with leaving the best intro ever and if you ever need anything I am always available to be at any help seriously ANYTHING [IMG] maybe not anything but you know what i mean lol.
Alright so welcome to our beautiful forum here on BYC. We are not only helpful for learning about chickens, we also have extreme knowledge in friendship and welcoming new people in. I was once a newbie a few weeks ago and now I am passing on that joy that welcomed me to put into welcoming wonderful people like you! So as per all my intros I always leave a couple links. My first link is for the Lesrning Center which is the best place for everything chicken related. Some people may think that they "know it all" and believe me I wish I did lol, but there is ALWAYS something you can take out from visiting the Learning Center so you should check it out!
These other links I usually leave 2 or three and they are more direct links for specific subjects. If you ever need help with that particular subject there will be more info and on the spot answers from BYC members.
The last link and by this time I am sure members are very exhausted from all these links, but this one is more for fun and more on the having fun side it is the Family Life where you can post updates on you and your flock.

Well I wish you the best of luck with the egg and if your ducks ever have a "ugly duckling" get ready to have a very swanny transformation. [IMG]This is why I am on the greet section and not the joke column lol. [IMG]

  8. Three just began to move today, including the small one..I'm on day 22 now, counting from the morning I placed them in the incubator. Funny thing is the little tiny egg is the one rocking and rolling..Still no pip...But, I'm remaining hopeful..and thanks every for the responses..[IMG]
