Newbie in SO CAL

Hi I'm Mary. I bought a coop in Craigslist and four hens as well. I can't believe how fast we fell in love. I've had them for a week now and have three eggs from one of them but none from the others yet. I thought I had two RIRs, a Red Star, and what the guy called a yellow buff...but now I am not sure! She's white. That's all I know. LOL

I'm attaching a pic of three of my girls. The fourth is the same color as the RIR in the pic. Their names, courtesy of my kids:

well your girls look happy. As the days get shorter chickens usually lighten up or stop laying.

better pics will help but it looks like the yellow one on the right is a buff orpington, and on left a rir and white one in the rear might be a white rock.
