[/IMG] please help! my chick, Re-re is my favorite baby of my 8 hens. She's always kind of looked messed up, she walks with her head to the side and her crown is sideways. She's also always has had messed up breast feathers, but I love her character. Yesterday I noticed her feathers on one side of her body were kind of wet looking. This morning the husband comes gets me and tells me to look at her, I do and this morning her eye looks like this and her feathers look gross. I don't know if it is my rooster being too rough with her (we had to lay down one of my babies because of him, but got chicken saddles and thought they would be fine).I have looked over my others, but she's the only one with something wrong. I sat down to pull up this page just now and heard a terrible noise in the house, I counted the girls outside and noticed my rooster and 2 hens missing, my Re-re of course. I went into their house and noticed the three of them were in there eating, but as I was watching my rooster pecked at Re-re's face...right in the eye area. Now my girls are separate from my rooster, but I don't know what to do to help Re-re. My rooster is going to stay in his own little pen. My questions are what do I do to help my hen? Do hens really need a rooster in order to stay around the house? I don't want them wandering in my neighbors yard thinking their dog is like ours. please help.
