I just wanted to introduce myself to the community here at BYC. We have a 2-month old Rhode Island Red (99.9% sure we never asked the feed center) and my family and I love her. It all started when my 6-year old son asked for a chick for his birthday. We live in a new community in Irvine, CA..which means I have no backyard. I just purchased an Eglu Go and have recently moved my hen outdoors. I'll be looking for some good info on how to raise our hen in an urban environment (all I have is concrete). I love the community!
from Ohio. So glad you joined. Chickens are social animals so you may want to get her a friend so she won't be lonely.
