Where is the best place to get chickens
Depends what you want. If you want a good egg layer, go to a local TSC they have Isa browns and production RIR. If you are looking for quality, find a breeder in your area,or if your into shipping, wherever a breeder resides. I get my chickens from both, my egg layers from TSC, and my silkies and soon to be gamefowl from a breeder.
Thank you I'll check them out
No problem, just out of curiosity, what are you looking for
Glad you could join the flock! Drop by your local feed stores to see what they have a available. Once you have 20 posts you can participate in the buy sell trade section of the forum, here is the link https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/67/buy-sell-trade
Hope you can find the birds you seek in your area. Be sure to ask any questions you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat
Lol pretty and lays ... I once had a Rhode Island red... He hated everyone but me...
I'm glad you joined our "flock!"
x2 on Rocky64's advice. I hope you can find some pretty, productive chickens!
Welcome to BYC. I'm so glad you joined our community!
If you want something that lays well and is pretty, you should probably get them from a hatchery or from a feed store (though a breeder would work out, too). If you were going to show chickens, you'd want to get from a breeder. Most feed stores should be selling chicks around now, and hatcheries often sell all year round, so you should be able to find some chickens.
Hello and welcome to BYC!
I agree on the above advice
