Newbie with sick 3yo RIR hen that can't stand up!

Hi, I am new to this chicken business and have a sick 3yo RIR hen that can't stand up. She has been very quite(frequent naps, allowing patting etc) for the past week or so but hasn't seemed 'sick' as such and I thought she was just a friendly chick. She is my BIL's that I am chooksitting until their new place is ready and I know they will be devastated if something were to happen to her.

There are another 8 chooks in the flock as well as 3 8 week old silkie chicks.....

Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be?

If she has moved to your house, she may have been exposed to a new strain of coccidia that she isn't immune to already. The symptoms of coccidiosis are sleepyness, diarrhea, not eating, puffing up, and ruffled feathers. If you think that fits, get some Toxoid, Corid, or amprollium to treat her right away. Treat all of the birds with directions on the label. Also, check her skin at the base of the feathers for any mites or lice. Worms could also be the problem. Good luck.
