Hi I want to start raising chickens but I don't have a clue. I live i Jacksonville Florida Arlington area. I need a inexpensive coop. I was laid off from my job. I want to say thank you ahead of time for any kind of help. :)

Welcome to BYC [IMG] The Learning Center would be a good place to start. There is a lot of information there on choosing breeds, housing, feeding, predators and pests, flock management etc. If you are on a budget, building a coop may be a good option for you. There are some lovely designs in the Coops section and there are more ideas here on using recycled materials for coops etc:

Best of luck with your new venture!

[IMG] Check out the coops section. Many people repurpose articles like wooden pallets, large appliance crates, dog houses. Check your local Craig's list people sometimes give away older coops with chickens when interest wanes. Others have lot cost coops they just want removed from their property
