So 3 of the newbies dried and fluffed up fine, but one still had egg schmutz on her and now her feathers are stuck and matted together, one little eye is half stuck shut. What can I do for her? :( It's been probably between 6-10 hours since she hatched. Thanks for your help!

Don't worry about the egg remains on her body. After a while they will go away; they don't hurt the chick (took up to 2 weeks for some of mine). However, I would try swabbing a little water with a q-tip around her eye to get the dried yolk off so she can open her eye all the way. If she is healthy--eating, drinking, moving about, etc. I wouldn't worry about her.

I would've thrown it in the dish washer.

Then again, I've never hatched chicks.[IMG]

    I haven't seen a Barbie doll since I blew up my sister's collection when I was a kid.[IMG]
