Hello Group, I am on day one of my first incubator hatch. I am trying to hatch my own eggs. I have a White leghorn rooster and several Black Sex Link hens. I think the BSL hens are a cross between a RIR and a Barred Rock. My question is when the White leghorn fertilizes a BSL is the result going to be the SAME as if he had fertilized a RIR or Barred Rock or will I get something totally different? Thanks for your input!
Since Sexlinks don't breed true I think the rooster chicks will go back to the male look (Rhode Island Red} and then female chicks to the Barred Rock. I'm not entirely positive of this but it is one or the other. Chickenplucker
I am not sure what they answer it but I do know that the Leghorns are dominant white instead of recessive like lots of other white breeds of chickens.
Like KARABBITRY say White Leghorn is Dominant White (if pure) and all babies will be white with some gold and few black feathers
