Hi, newbie here! We are the owners of the BrownChickalettasCoop. We are attempting our first try in egg hatching with hens. As our flock is small, with only 4 Rhode Island Red hens and a feather footed bantam rooster, we are confident in our capability. Our hens are very sweet and share egg beds and turns sitting. Any advice or info. is appreciated.

Hi and welcome to BYC - i wish you all the best with your new hatch.

The Learning Centre is a great resource, even for experienced chicken keepers - loads of info on anything chicken. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center - thats probably the best place to start.

Joining your state / country thread will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area, which can be helpful.

All the best

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join us here! Good luck with your broody hens. It's great to see them raising their chicks and it's something I found fascinating. Here is a lovely article taken form the learning centre on broody hens ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/guide-to-letting-broody-hens-hatch-and-raise-chicks
I found most helpful when I had my broody. Wishing you the very best of luck for the future.
Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow
