I recently adopted a pair of Muscovy Ducks. Their first home was not the best, and they came to me with fully plugged noses (lots of dirt and food in there). One of them seemed to be alright, the food came out pretty easily (we did have to go in and manually remove it) and aside from a rather scruffy appearance, and a shy personality, she seems to be alright. The second was in much rougher shape. Her bill has several soft spots around the nose and has several cuts that have generated crusty buildup that is blocking her nostrils. Her nostrls recently (I only adopted them three days ago) began to leek clear fluid. This paired with several mildly infected cuts has me very concerned, please advise (I will post pictures as soon as I can).

Thank you guys so much for the responses :)! We tried and haven't been able to find any vets that'll see birds in our area, that's when we came here (we found so many helpful responses with our chickens we thought it might be helpful for our ducks). They've been eating and drinking, but I'm not familiar with B-complex?

Good thing to use in general for ducks. I know Muscovy are a little different. I get this bottle. Says for cattle. I add about 1ml per gallon of water 2x daily for my ducks.

Many use human tablets and crush over treats like peas or whatever your ducks willingly gobble.

Do you think it seems respiratory or just local? Trouble breathing? Wheezing? Or from a wound? (I am asking in advance for others and learning with you! I am new to this but try to learn all I can lol)

There appears to be an infection on the little comb(?) thing above the nose, aside from that there is a little wheezing, but usually we hear that when we're applying the antiseptic to the bill (it seems to be helping with the cuts) and that may be due to stress (speaking of which any advice on how to make it less stressful for the poor thing, I really hate putting my little girl through this much stress even if it is for her own good)

Also, once I get the chance, Ill totally be looking into that! Thank you so much!!!

What are you using in their bills? And bless you for rescuing these Muscovy. When my gander injured his bill I used ACV in his bucket for him to wash his face in ACV can kill some bacteria and if used at this strength will not burn or sting 1 Tab to a gal of fresh water.
