newly hatched duckling has dried up navel thread

hi, I'm new here and i don't really know how to raise a duck. I really need help, this almost a day old baby has like a sort of navel thread attached to it's yolk sac
should i cut it? and if so, where should it be cut?

I usually snip it about a half inch from the body. I make sure to use sharp scissors so there is no tugging at the string whatsoever. Of course it's best if someone can hold the duckling for you so you're able to take every precaution to keep the little cutie safe. They can be squirmy and get those little legs and webbies right where I'm trying to cut.
