Hi any help greatly appreciated we recently got the pictured bird was found in the middle of a main red by a friend and as we have 6 chickens she brought her/him to us I have the bird in a spare coup on her own at the moment and its eating and drinking OK firstly can anyone tell me the breed and secondly if its a hen or cockeral if its a hen I will slowly inter grate her into my others coup if a cockerel then I am not sure thanks stu

I would say it's a rooster because of the pointy feathers around the tail.
In all the breeds I know of hens don't get that.
Can't help you on breed though. It does look like Easter Egger roosters I've seen, but I am just taking a guess with that.
If it is a rooster I'm surprised it hasn't crowed since it looks mature enough....
 
Thanks we thought rooster because of the tail but the comb is very small and its very timid was hoping its a hen
 
i would say he is a Easter egg rooster. when I introduced my roosters to my hens, my hens seemed a lot more happy and safe with a rooster to follow around.
 
My original thought was game bird, but he looks rather large...
Trust Ramirez, she's super smart when it comes to chickens :)
 
will try and get a picture of him standing tonight he is very small in comparsion

to my other hens i would say half the size

So i think we have confirm its definitely a rooster then

i will put him in with the others tonight as well to see what happens
