We were thinking of doing a road trip this summer to see the falls
I have never been and was looking for some advice on what side to go on? USA or Canada?
Also are there other things to do and see that I should not miss?
Thanks.

Buffalo seems sorta ugly by comparison.

Oh and depending on the time of year I think there is different light shows at night by the falls... I think it runs from May 24th long weekend (for us) the beginning of Camping season... to Labor Day weekend... the official close of the camping season for us..lol

Canada!!!!!! I live close to the falls and canada's side is so much nicer. Just a tip drive 5 mins away from the falls when you eat ,it's way cheaper. They usually have a falls pass where you can park and take a bus from one attaction to another ,usually includes maid of the mist http://www.niagarafallslive.com/Attractions_in_Niagara_Falls.htm which is not to miss . You have to visit birds of the lost kingdom we go once a year! http://www.niagarafallsaviary.com/. Niagara is wine country and there are tons of hiking trails, niagra falls also has a great wolf lodge, a really good outlet mall with may good brands and well priced, also cosinos:). Honestly I hate the US side of the falls, it's sort of scarey, run down the shopping malls are like ghost towns even there aquarium should be shut down, it's so run down though it is cheap.

Canadian side is much prettier. I was also disturbed that the Canadian side had lots of squirrels in the parks and there were none on the American side. The dh and I still joke that they must have been poisoning them all on the US side.

We had a friend here from Australia and they dont have squirrels there and when i brought them to the falls they were more impressed with the fuzzy rodents then the actual falls...LOL
