Nice roosters?

Does anyone know if the Roosters are nice in the following breeds
Buff Brahma Bantam
Mottled Cochin Bantams
Silkies
Mille Fleur Bearded d'Uccle

They could be good.... Or not.

Of the breeds you are asking about, I have had:

D'uccle
Bantam buff brahma
Cochins, but buff ones
Never had any silkies


The d'uccles maybe one third of the roosters were bad, the rest were sweet.

I have only had two Bantam Buff Brahma, and they were both very violent.

The Bantam Buff Cochins we had only one rooster, and he was very laid back and almost not rooster like. So, super sweet.

All of mine were hatchery stock.

My d'uccle roosters lost the very tips of their comb points to frost bite. It didn't bother them too much (i know that sounds horrid). Anyway, I didn't have to doctor them at all, it was just the very end of the thinnest points.

Other than that, there have been no problems. They actually don't look all that cold. They manage to fluff themselves up almost as round as a Cochin!

I have one last question ( I'm going to be a first time bantam owner ) Do you have any problems with their feet especially because they are feathered?

No problems with their feet, but I have a pretty well drained spot for them.


You do want to watch their run though. Lots of mud can cause problems.
