Hey yall.

Silly question! My chicks are 5 weeks old now. Do they need to have food and water at night? (Of course they have had open access to both every night.) Just wondering.

I only have water in the coop at night for mine and that’s mainly due to the hot summer temps. They’re about 7 weeks old however. So a little older than your’s. I had food in the coop for the first week they transitioned but no longer but they seem to be fine. But like Chickstarr stated, mine back a beeline for the feeder when I let them out around 7am to stuff their little faces with breakfast !

I was just wondering about this. Mine are 3 weeks old, outside during the day, in at night until night temps are warmer.

There are 15 of them in a big crate and make such a huge mess in there. Wondering when they could go without water & feed overnight?
