Hi all -- I've been considering chickens for a long time, but my boyfriend gave me an ultimatum ("Finish your art studio before you take on chickens). The art studio is finally done (window trim doesn't count, right?), so I'm getting more serious about chickens. I've been drafting coop designs; I figured out where they'll go in the yard; and I'm hoping to build in Sept/Oct and get chicks next spring.

Other introductory things -- I'm a graphic designer, painter, and musician (fiddle, mostly Irish, some Quebecois). Gardener. Lots of stuff to keep me busy!

@Ronot1 , that's great! I definitely need things to keep me motivated and on track -- it was a good intervention. :D

@TwoCrows I'm definitely looking forward to drawing chickens!

@Everyone else -- thank you for the welcome! I've already found these forums a terrific resource. I finally made an account so I could ask specific questions, but I've been browsing for quite awhile!
