No Drake feather?

    I am very news to ducks, but we just took in a blue swedish that is thought to be a Drake, however he doesn't have a Drake feather? Is this typical? Our black cayuga is younger and has a very obvious Drake feather. He does have that same raspy sounding quack like our black cayuga. I would be thrilled to find out he is a female but his raspy quacks makes me think otherwise.. what's everyone's opinion?[​IMG]

    Either he's too young to have developed it yet or he's molted it out and has yet to replace it. If he has a low raspy quack then he's a drake :)

    So...my drake hat was killed by a animal was a drake.but....after his first molt, he lost the drake feather and NEVER grew it back.does anyone know why?
