No eggs ever

In July I bought 6 chickens from a man who said he bred his own. They were 6 months old then. He called them Goldens. They have pink combs. I feed them Purina Layena and always have fresh water in their run & coop. They have never laid a single egg. Are there chickens who don't lay eggs? I'd quit but I spend a lot of money on the coop, feed, & equipment. What is wrong?

he may have sold you some washed up hens that are much older than what he said. When you say "Goldens", I'm going out on a limb and saying they are probably sex linked chickens.....bred to lay large volume early, then tapper off to few or none at all after a couple years.
Why would you quit chicken keeping because your hens aren't laying.....go get some chickens that are laying or young enough for you to raise in to layers.
