No eggs :(

I have 8 layers that have been laying 5-8 eggs a day but yesterday, none laid any. Is that weird that all 8 took the day off? Got only 1 so far today. No signs of something sneaking in and getting them before we get to them. Just curious.

If something scared them they may stop like that.

Going on 3 days now and no eggs. What can be happening?

If they free-range they could be hiding them.

Mine will lay theirs in the doghouse if they get a chance. Luckily the dog never goes in there!

Yeah, I had 1 Buff that was "flying the coop" and laying in a flower bed but none there as well. Checked all around their run area (lots of bushes to hide in) and nothing!

So I'm not sure what's going on.

Have they been eating enough layer pellets? I know that when we first got our chickens, sometimes my son would go overboard on treats, and the eggs really slowed down. Just a thought

So apparently my husband may have discovered the problem. Before he left for a business trip he filled the feeder all the way up w food and we have a second feeder in the other coop. Apparently the one in the main coop got all mildewy and gross! Therefore they weren't eating!!! He just kept checking the one in the main coop, and it had food so he didn't check it further. . Bad chicken daddy! Hope they will get back to laying and no harm done. Guess that's what happens when momma leaves the girls for a long time.
