No heat

My power finally came on bbn after 24 hours without . This is the perfect example of why I don't heat my coop. My chickens did better than me! They're out pecking around while I was bundled in bed all day!

And this is why we installed a generator large enough to run the entire house after hurricane Sandy. Two weeks without electricity was too much - never again.

We have a generator but only for the basics...like no doing laundry...oh well, gives me a good excuse! Glad you got your power!

Yeah we didn't plan well for this storm....no gas for the generator.

Our portable generator was getting very old, and this year we had a whole house generator installed, rather than replacing the little one. No more gasoline at 2am!
I told the neighbors that our area will never loose power again, because we spent $$$ for the big generator, and won't ever need to use it. Insurance!

Our generator runs on propane, like our whole house. Natural gas isn't available in the boonies where we live...
So, not dependent on electricity, or gasoline. It will stop if the propane runs out. Then out two wood stove will still work, or we drain the pipes and haul water for the cattle, horses, and chickens. Hope that never happens!!!
