I'm typing through tears of joy and thanks. All of you BYC contributors deserve a place in heaven. Let me explain.

This is my third year with chickens. We placed our first big order from McMurrarys this year, put them in their sweet brooder pen with shavings from our wood working neighbor, and put them on unmediated "organic" feed. Two became quite ill, a Cuckoo Moran & a Blue Andalusian, their toes drew up and they were quite unsteady. It was heart wrenching to see them stumble around on their hockles. After searching this site, we changed the (possibly) walnut contaminated bedding, started them on Poly Vi Sol without Iron (so hard to find!) and hydrated them with an eye dropper, and switched to medicated feed.

Two nights later it did not seem to be helping, I checked them at midnight: lots of peeping, and it seemed painful to straighten out their toes, they looked so pitiful. I told them to sleep well, as this would be their last. Saturday morning brought us a true miracle; they starting stretching their toes, and flapping their wings. Now, three hours later, they are running around, "flying" and generally behaving like healthy chicks. Thanks to all of you and your past contributions, these two will have a chance to grow up. Thank you so much.
