I have noticed that on many of the websites that sell day old chicks, the Marek's vaccine is not offered with the bantam and silkie chicks [IMG] . Does anyone know why? [IMG]

I'm confused about the mareks vaccine for bantams not being offered at hatcheries, nobody has an answer? [IMG]

Just taking a guess, perhaps they're too small to receive vaccines? If it's all the bantams, that'd be my best guess.

Silkies are too small to be properly vaccinated and at times can actually be vaccinated incorrectly due to their size ,so they do not vaccinate them for Mareks.

We vaccinated the bantams we hatched ourselves. I agree, its probably because they are so small.

It's not impossible, but definately takes more patience than the full sized chicks.
