yep we plan on processing them in a few days. I'm terrified but the hubby thinks he can handle it. We both want to be more self sufficient and so we thought getting the Cornish would be a good learning experience. Not sure if I'd ever do it again...how we handle d-day will tell. Neither of us has ever grown up on a farm so all of this is an adjustment. We are both excited to learn and grow from this experience.Do you know Cornish x are meat birds? they eat constantly and grow fast to processing age ( about 10 weeks I believe). If they are not slaughtered early, their growth outpaces their organs and their legs. Either they die of heart attack, stroke, or their legs just give out.
