No Sevin dust, Now What??

I have used Sevin dust for several years to control for parasites. Now I can't get it? I have tried DE and wood ash to no avail. Anyone have other ideas? I have about 200 birds so small scale controls won't work.

Why can't you get sevin dust? They have it here. They also have sevin dust with different brand names, although I can't think of them now. Walmart and Lowes both sell it.

I've run into that problem too....last year, I believe. My farm store has what they call "Poultry Dust" which is pretty much the same thing. You should check into that......

This article might help. It lists some other controls such as permethrin and malathion. Many of the feed stores have specific poultry sprays, usually containing permethrin. You can also call your county extension agent, in the phone book under county government, and talk to them about it. They should know what is immediately available and where to find it in your area.
